In this case the Jackson/Charvel side of the family. I took a new pic and wanted an excuse to post. Post up some family pics.

Nice!!!!! I want a guitar with a Kahler. I think I will get along with it better than I do with a Floyd Rose.

It will probably be my next purchase...

This is a killer collection. You have one for each trem type (strat, top mount Floyd, Kahler, recessed Floyd). :)

That is a great group! If there is ever a Detroit area ampfest, I request the presence of the 82 and 83!

I’m really surprised by how much I liked the Kahler myself. From all the horror stories I expected to hate it  but it’s a killer setup. The action was too low and bends were a hassle. Raising it went well, only complaint was having to have the strings slack because the adjustment screw for height is right under each string. Also the J50BC pickup isn’t bad either. I use the built in mid boost a little (like a quarter turn from the mid detent) and the guitar rips.

And yeah I just realize that covers all 4 bases, trem wise! I tried swapping the knobs from brass to chrome on the blue one to see if it would mesh better visually, and I know it’s OCD for some, but I’m so used to that guitar having the mismatched hardware (brass knobs and strap buttons, chrome Floyd, black tuners) but I can’t do it. I’m so used to this guitar being like this that it messes with my OCD for it to be different.

Dude Billy your family portrait rocks too. I love both Jacksons, obviously, but the Kramer and Showmaster guitars are awesome. And that Ibanez rules too. A buddy had me do some work on his RG5EX1 and I briefly considered buying one. Just for the reverse Ibanez headstock. The neck felt good too.

Thanks man! The Showmaster is a much better guitar than it should be. I bought it just a week before what ended up being our last gig before Rona and at that time it needed some work/setup but as soon as we start gigging again I will be taking it out with me for sure. It's one of my favorite guitars, if not THE current favorite guitar I own.

The Ibanez is bittersweet for me because the guy who sold it to me on Facebook kind of ripped me off, he did a really shitty job with the upgrades and wiring etc without really disclosing it so it just sat in my rack unused for an year. But I've recently had the chance to fix all the shoddy work he had done and now it sounds and plays really well.

The Kramer is still a work in progress, I want to upgrade the bridge to a Gotoh and change the neck pickup. I already changed the bridge pickup to a Custom Custom so at least the lead tone is great. The stock bridge is fine too tbh, but I love the Gotoh Floyd.

The Jacksons are killer. I am surprised how really fucking close the SLX is from the USA SL1. Obviously, different woods etc but the neck profile and the quality of the fit/finish are dead on. The MII Jacksons are crazy good for the money!!

Gotoh makes a great Floyd and would probably perfect for that guitar. I’m thinking about changing all my Floyd arms to pop in arms like the current Gotoh Floyds. Screw in arms are still great but kind of cumbersome for gigs when you’re on a time table for setups and tear downs. And I’m not much of a fan of the collared bars. The one on my San Dimas stays solid and tight all the time but the one on my Soloist gets loose if I turn the arm the wrong way. So I’d rather be consistent and change them all.

Definitely will! It's another endorsement thing. I don't want or need another guitar, but I'm sure it will be pretty awesome.

I got my ESP in yesterday. I'll do a thread for it tonight or tomorrow. It's pretty, but I hate it. No way am I using this guitar. The neck is super thin and flat... like a not-as-wide Wizard neck. I hate Wizard necks and I hate this neck.

I have no idea how it sounds because it currently has an EMG 81 in the bridge and that is my least favorite pickup ever made, so I haven't even plugged it in. I have an 85 coming to replace it temporarily till I get my BG Pickups in.

I'm selling mine. It's a good time to do that actually. Prices are sky-high, so I can severely undercut every other used one on sale and still double my money on it.

I'm in the cinema industry, so you can probably understand why I could use the money... this boy will be jobless soon if trends continue.

It does look awesome. Sucks about the neck. I like Wizard necks but they hurt my wrist so I avoid them.
