I have the Pacer opened up on my workbench now to change the bridge pickup, add a low friction volume etc but as soon as I put it back together I will make a video of it. The Soloist is a really awkward guitar for me to play, I can't get used to the picking angle, but it's what I had downstairs at the moment so :idk:

Thanks for the comments guys. I am happy with this new setup, I think it's the best compromise between tube tone and portable/DI I've found so far.

Actually feels good. Not very different than playing the same preamp through the Peavey Classic 120 power and the Marshall cab.

I'm the biggest Palmer fanboi  Their gear sounds amazing for live DI applications. And it doesn't even require power!! Completely passive /analog.

Corona stuck at home, if a guitarist plays a great rig in a forest, did anyone hear it?

Yeah I now learned I need the light source in front of me, not behind me   I will make better videos soon. I actually need to start a thread about video making, editing, lightning etc..

The ENGL is a preamp (E530). The Palmer is just a little DI box with passive speaker emulation:

Do it, you want me to post some clips to help you pull the trigger?

if the pdi05 had load, id off the pdi03 and torpedo for it in a heart beat.
