Any of you guys running these pickups? I am having some thoughts that they may be a good match for my Black Beauty LP Custom. The demo from a couple of years ago sounds great and obviously, they are priced well for a uncovered zebra set.

The guitar has some Sheptone PAF's. So, if these Duncan.s are too PAF'y, I may pass and look at something different.

I've been wanting to try them out too. The clips I've heard sounded awesome.

So, here is my dilema.....

I really want a Tube Amp Expander. If I order it from Sweetwater on the 48 month deal, it also comes with a $100 E-Gift Card. Which I would put towards the Duncan's. Once they are installed and formally approved by the board, I will then in turn sell the Sheptone's to recoup some of those capital expenditures.

Is this sound corporate tone philosophy?

I suppose the only hitch is that I like everything about the new Torpedo CabX. If I go that route, I will just order the Duncan's while I wait for it to be released. But, that will depend on how well the attenuation gets reviewed.

I wasn't impressed at all with the regular Captor. I bought it to use with the Torpedo Cab M and couldn't sell them fast enough. Maybe the new one is better....

That's my hope. But I'll most like just order the TAE after I spend some time with Cole's. Should be here by Monday.

Dude hooked my up big time with a demo/tryout.

how do you get the free $100 e-gift card? I just got approved for the Sweetwater card and they didn't offer me that...

None, IMHO. 59 would be the closest but it's still quite different.

I put a set in a les Paul custom for my brother's brother-in-law about 2 months ago. I found them dark and a little congested in the mid range. If you have a really bright amp like a fender blackface you might like them. I also put a set of slash alnico 2 in his other les Paul the same day. Those sounded amazing but I could not get on with the Saturday night specials. Tried them both through my mesa, my laney and my little custom 5 watt plexi.

Well, I plugged my LPC into my MarkIII the other day and my pickup GAS went away instantly.

Funny how that works
