Haha I remember you sent me pics of the back of my V and I thought you mixed on of your ceiling in there...but it was actually the back of the V reflecting your ceiling hahaha.

Also, while no one will confuse this for not being black, it’s acrually transparent. Altho, you need a spotlight or direct sunlight to tell! Lol. But it isnt a solid black. I actually wanted more of the wood grain to come thru, but transparent black on mahogany also has this deep burgundy color come thru. I tried To mute that inherant mahogany color by bleaching the wood. I had success with alder doing that so I could get the right shade of grey. The bleaching worked well, but in hindsight it needed a second application and I’m sure it would have been good enough. But since it wasn’t I kept tweaking the color darker with shaded lacquer until it’s almost black.

But when I pointed out to my daughter to look a little closer that you can see the wood still, she was like “Ohhh, well look at you.” Lol

It’s done. I’m digging it. I’ll post some pics when I take some. Besides the mahogany neck, everything is basically the same as my favorite guitar. Totally they are similar so that’s good. Ole #1 just fits like a glove, and this one is literally brand new. And lest anyone thinks guitars don’t have a break in period. They do! For real. I think it’s mainly the fretwork. I don’t know how to explain it other than new frets take a little bit to kinda settle in. They have a bit more “clickity clack” to them. I remember my -#1 feeling that way before it all kinda settles in. But this was one of my best fret installs. I’ve gotten to the point I prolly don’t even have to do the light level after install, but this one was truly 99% spot on just from the install. That was nice as I had em all leveled and polished in about 15 minutes
