OK, the first run of the pedals has been built! :

I still need to test them and I don't have time today. I'll finish the testing during this next week, get some shipping boxes and these will be ready to go in a week or so... If you are one of these guys:

1.) mctallica1
2.) BrocksteadyUGT (emailed me)
3.) ajaxlepinski
4.) lester
5.) drkorey
6.) bubbastain
7.) TurboPablo
8.) Dick Butter Nuts
9.) Bleedback

get your cash ready as I'll expect payment ($225) sometime next week (except for mctallica1, who has already paid me). I'll let everyone know my Henning Amps PayPal address and that it is time to pay in this thread when the pedals are all tested and ready to go.

If you do not want your pedal, please let me know as soon as you can via PM here or at steve@henningamps.com.

I have decided NOT to produce a manual since:

1.) these are an exact copy of the VFE Standout and you can figure out the controls from their website and various threads on rig-talk. I can point you in the right direction if you need help...
2.) I can only build 3 more in the second run since VFE would not grant me permission to continue producing these as they have other plans.

Thanks,

Steve

Pumped!

I'm way overdue for a fresh Butter Dungeon vid, and this pedal might be my ticket to the wild side.

Those things are Purdy.

Steve, I seem to remember psychodave mentioning that the VFE guy had an update or upgrade whatever for these.
Is that in there? What's that all about anyway?
Also, can these run at 18v ?

I made one change (a larger cap value) that Peter recommends on his DIY page, but other than that these are stock - not the charge pump version. However, Peter says you can run this pedal at 18V and you won't hear any difference from the charge pump version.

Pedals are tested and ready to ship. Unfortunately, one of the pedals had an issue and the proprietary chip on the board was burned out, so there will only be 8 pedals in this run. The following people need to pay me $225 at this PayPal address: sales @henningamps.com and I can then ship your pedal:

7.) TurboPablo

I have already received payment from 1.) mctallica1, 2.) BrocksteadyUGT, 3.) ajaxlepinski, 4.) lester, 5.) drkorey, 6.) bubbastain, 8.) Dick Butter Nuts

I need people to either PayPal me the $225 or let me know that they no longer want their pedal ASAP so I can offer it to someone else on the list or those that have emailed me from Facebook and Instagram. I have PM'd each of you as well.

9.) Bleedback will be put into the next run, which I expect to do in September/October timeframe, unless one of the above folks do not want their pedal.

A few things to know about your pedal:

1.) Get to know the pedal. It takes some time to make it work for you. Check out the threads at rig-talk. People talk about their settings, etc. Check out the VFE website - it will tell you exactly what the controls are for since I just used silly names for them ;)

2.) If you turn up "DOOM" all the way (This is the VFE "LEVEL" or gain control) you're going to get feedback, depending on your amp/guitar/pickups. No one should need to turn it up all the way!

3.) There are two pots inside the pedal. If you take off the bottom and are looking at the pedal upside down, the pot on the left controls the brightness of the LED, The pot to the right controls the makeup gain. I have it set for using the pedal with a high gain amp. If you need more, you can turn it up, but be careful - you may get feedback from your amp if it is up too high. I recommend leaving these pots as is and if you mess around inside the pedal and short out something, I am not going to be responsible for the damage! Get to know the pots on the outside of the pedal before messing around inside.

4.) If you have a KSR Ceres, I have found it does not like boosts like this (including the Fortin Blade and 33) unless you turn the volumes on the gain channels up at least to 3-4 o'clock.

Any other questions, let me know!

Thanks,

Steve

All pedals are now paid for, have been packed and labeled and will ship tomorrow. Run two will be in the next month or so, but there are only two pedals up for grabs. That will be it - there will be no more of these made by me. Wish I could make more, but it isn't possible. Thanks guys!

Got mine today Steve.
Pretty cool! Super quality and looks a hell of a lot better than the VFE.
Tried it for a bit...sounds great. I might have to write down the function of these knobs though for a minute
