If you have a Pittman guitar or a guitar that was worked on by Paul please post it here. This thread will be permanently sticky'd to all sub-forums as a tribute to Paul Slagle's amazing work and life. Thank you.

Not my guitar (actually, it's Itchy's now ), but a lot of us in SoCal got the honor of drooling on it (amongst other things), and this pic really says a lot about our man of honor:

Paul remembered something I had said about cool vintage Schwinn bicycle logos and added this little personal touch. I believe it's from the same year as the guitar this build was mostly modeled after. 1956. The difference would obviously be the neck humbucker and split switch.

Hope this is allowed here. This is Paul's instagram page. Really just the tip of the iceberg of the awesome work he did but it was always cool to see his work. I didn't use instagram a ton but I loved following Paul's stuff on there.

I just happened to be looking at the last picture's he posted of my guitars before he boxed them up to ship out to me. It's so bittersweet and it's making me sad. But, I have them right here next to me and I will play them for the rest of my life. So I am taking solace in that.

Random collection here, shots of his shop or his work in various stages of development that I took over the years. Lots of "Here at Pittman Guitars you get what we build and you STFU". Did I ever mention that my Shell Pink bass was supposed to be Lake Placid Blue?

My chambered beauty in the front of the line hanging out to dry. I literally just put it down about three minutes ago.

I will brother. This guitar ruined like every other guitar I had, lol. I've since come to accept that no other guitar feels, plays, or sounds quite like this one, but that is OK.

There are a few GAB guitars in those pics, for sure.

A few weeks ago, I was talking to Paul about how pretty much every Pittman I've played has a special liveliness to it. It's like a resonance or sizzle that I don't get from other guitars. He agreed, but couldn't really put his finger on why they have it or what makes them special. Then he admitted that whenever he finished a guitar that felt lifeless, he just lit those on fire...

Thanks for posting these, guys. That trans-white workingman of yours, TurboPablo is exactly what I wanted for myself when I could swing it. I'm disappointed, as others have stated, that I won't get a chance to own something Paul worked on.

Say what you want about relicing, but his were absolutely perfect. I always wonder when he decided he was done properly beating the shit out of a guitar.

If you look at his Tele's with a full sized bridge, you'll notice a random screw up the right hand corner. When I asked him why he did this, he replied "Because Fuck You, that's why".
