Obviously nothing groundbreaking or original here, that's not his thing. This track could be on any of the Gary Moore's blues albums. But it's a good song with great playing.

Yeah, same. Kind of. I don't hate his stuff but I couldn't listen to a whole album of it.

I know blues/classic rock is not about being original, but most artists have some kind of individual style that is reflected in their music, but with Joe, I don't see it. It's very derivative. I do think he's an amazing guitar player though.

In other words, I really enjoyed this song and I will probably never listen to it again. :idk:

I like it. It's a little cliche but the chord pattern makes me want to grab a Guitar and use that as a backing track for some melodic shreddy riffing. :thu:

I always feel like I should like Joe more than I do. Not that I don't like him, his playing is great, as is his tone, I just have a hard time listening to him more that 5 minutes at a time.

I simply think he needs better tunes and better hooks. Like this song, I like the guitar line that comes in around the 4:10 mark. I would have put that guitar line at the beginning of the song and built the song around that hook.

But WTF do I know, Joe is a famous worldwide and I'm only famous in my garage.

same. Except I am famous in my basement because I don't have a garage.

But I agree. I want to like him more than I do. I am trying.

Not really a bad song, but I really couldn't do repeated listening to this tune.

The bass was almost non existent in this song.

The last small lead at the end, had the essence of an Eric Johnson style lead.

I personally admire JB more for his guitar collection than his music.

Blue and Evil and Hadrian's Wall are good driving songs.

I really like his interviews and rig rundowns. He genuinely seems like a nice guy. He is to the blues/rock what Nickleback is to metal. I don't Hate it, I would just rather listen to almost anything else. Great player too. After a few bars I'm done. I feel like its me though. If I can listen to Yngwie play arpeggios all day why I cant get into this?

The BCC was great because Hughes wrote/co-wrote a lot of the songs. I'd love to see Joe B teamed up with a strong songwriter again.

But then again, he's extremely successful by himself so maybe it's just me lol.

the only guys ive ever known that listened to bonamassa were two middle aged kinda stiff dudes from two separate jobs years ago, neither of them played guitar or had much musical interest otherwise but they would go see bonamassa, it was kind of odd to me considering i didnt even know who the dude was. if i didnt hear about joe from them i probably still wouldnt know who he was till this day

I liked it. The guy is a great player for sure and I like the way his guitars sound. As Billy said, I'll never listen to it again though.

I think what I like best about Joe is his passion for gear, especially the vintage stuff. And his taste is wide - you'll see him playing prepro Charvels in addition to the strats and Gibsons... Seems like a guy who it would be fun to sit down and chat with passing around guitars...

No doubt the man can play like a bona-massa-fied Guitar God.
He doesn't bore me but I don't generally go too far out of my way
to listen to him. I occasionally click on a facebook link to jam with
others he may be in and am very impressed with his chops, passion and tone.
Then for some reason I move on pretty quickly.
Props to a master though.

The video was all kinds of cliched......

I totally appreciate his playing ability, but, once again, I just can't get into his music. There's absolutely nothing that I can point to that I can say "there! See that! That's what I don't like!" And that's the problem. It's oatmeal without even the salt.

Let's compare him to Joe Satriani. Joe Satriani makes music that I feel! It engages my emotions! It makes me jealous of his guitar skills, and I want to try to figure out/copy/etc. what he's playing. Nothing like that going on in this video.

It's kind of like me and 12 bar blues. There's some people who can make it sound OK, there's some people who, when they play, I hear their talent, but I personally really don't like playing it. For me, it's an old, boring formula, and I don't want to play it or hear it.

YMMV

^the man can merchandise, no doubt. From yoga mats to limited edition Fender Twin signature models.

That was part of what I was loking forward to seeing at his show - hundreds of boomers decked out in their Joe gear.

 - pretty sure that's the Joe B emoji

Bonamassa is an odd one... great player, great gear/tone.... totally unmemorable/unlistenable

Not really sure why, I would say maybe the genres just played out, but then there's guys like Marcus King etc. out there still doing pretty cool stuff in blues
