Hi guys,

I recently completed my own personal build of a Friedman mini JJ Jr. clone based on a PCB I developed a few months back.
I grabbed a 2nd hand Ceriatone 2202 as a donor amp for this, which worked out fine. I'm currently building another for a guy in Melbourne and will put his in a 20" Marshall head cab format with a smallbox (468mm wide) size chassis. Tight fit but will be fine.

Features wise, my PCB can do:
- A straight up replica of the JJ Jr. (or Runt 20, or the other EL84 Friedman minis, they are very similar). EL84 powered, cathode bias
- The same but 6V6 fixed bias. Switchable fixed/cathose bias.
- Add a second gain and master for the BE channel, so the amp becomes 3 channels; clean, BE1 & BE2. All relay switchable.
- Switchable plexi mode - assignable to either BE1 and/or BE2 channel. Relay switchable.
- Switchable BE channel boost - assignable, this is essentially the Friedman structure switch. Relay switchable.
- Switchable SAT mode (JBE) - assignable to either BE1 and/or BE2 channel. Also on a relay.

Some pics for the build and I've posted a clip comparing the tones to an actual JJ Jr. that I was lucky enough to get my hands on for 24 hours.

Will try and do another clip shortly to demo the switching options.

I've still got a stack of these PCB's so give me shout if you'd like to grab one.

Cheers
Jason

Hey Jason

Amp looks really good man. Very clean build. Did you also clone the DI/load feature?

Hi, Thanks!

No I did not do the DI/Load feature. I believe it's the guts of Friedman's Mic No Mo product for the DI, and the load is a large 8ohm resistive load IIRC.

Excellent work man. Unsure how much a build like this costs but damn. I listened in my car stero and to me it sounded 99% spot on. Better than a Kemper would do, nice work.
