....iiitttttt. All the shit ive been doing lately rolled into one! Another fairly easy track to play thru so might as well toss the video in the mix as well. Just R/L tracks Peavey XXX el34/6ca7, older celestion t75 md421/sm57 mics. Go...

Integrated quads! Lol.

It almost sounds a tad too warm up top now. But i definitely have an issue with the amp when I feel it’s toommich going on up there. Which at times, thru certain speakers or even power tubes, it can be too thin and raspy. These power tubes and speaker set up has the right balance for me. And the recording is pretty damn true to the tone. Just a simple hi pass at like 78hz I think and then whatver little mastering chain I have is all there is sweeting up the tone. I didn’t feel I needed anything, but maybe a count hair more aggression I would go far still

Here’s my best tube speak on what this gave me.
I had the svetlana in for awhile and the were great but definitely lacked a little in low end and at volume you could really hear them compressing cause I prolly run too much bass. Lol

The 6ca7s were a lot fatter but still pretty tight. Think 6l6 but without the upper end fizz. So it’s a bit dark in some regards I’d say.

I also have kt77s once I mixed the el34 and 6ca7 I figured Yknow probably the kt77 is what I want.
But after popping those in I got back some of the harder mids that the svetlana el34s had. So these are much more el34 ish with extended lows and highs and they just sounded like an el34 with the same mids but more lows and highs. Actually not really what I wanted

The el34/6ca7 mix sounds much smoother in the mids and highs and the lows feel just right to me now. Even at max volume the overall sound doesn’t compress like just the el34s did. I hate to use the word “complex mids”, but damn it this does seem to have that complex mids swirl happening moreso than every other tube I tried. And I rolled just about every kind I can run in this amp. It’s been a few days now and the amp is easily giving my 6505 a run, as I usually turn off the 6505 to jam the XXX!

I picked one up earlier this year and have been loving it! It is a great mix of a 5150 vibe mixed with an 80s modded Marshall vibe. I also like that it doesn't go from whisper to I'm deaf with a blow of the knob like my other big amps. Probably my only complaint is I wish I could control resonance/presence instead of just a switch, but I guess that is what the JSX is for. Well that, and I haven't had time to build a footswitch for it yet.

I am loving the sound you have here! I haven't tried my 3120 through my G12T-75 loaded cab yet, but I will be :thu:

Just uploading it into Logic then simply moving it, like one would with an audio track, until it looks close enough. I’ve actually been relatively surprised at how easy it all was. I’m sure it’s just as easy in other DAWs and computers but a part of my plan to Go with Apple, Apogee and Logic is they are all optimized with each other and now I have an IPhone, getting everything to basically just plug into each other without having to convert formats or whatver definitely keeps it simplified. And I have it basically down within minutes.
