Great tune, riffing, and tones! Dig the heavy riffage at the end of the clip, and it would be cool to hear some of your SOD style riffs thru this thing.

How does the feel of the Boss compare to the feel of the Suhr RL? I've struggled with the feel of reactive loads/IRs/modelors when trying to do heavier riffing, although some of the Ownhammer Heavy Hitters IRs have a chunk/cab-like feel as you know.

This one is for you Mr. Butter Nuts! :hi5:

Have you spent much time running it through your real speaker cabinets? How does it all compare?

I have. I still prefer playing thru a real speaker cab cranked up if I have a chance. The attenuator is really good. What I haven't tried yet is hooking up my head to it in 16 ohms. Kind of curious if that will make any difference too. So far been running everything as 8 ohm. I plan on comparing it to the Suhr IR soon too.

She chugs, thanks for taking the time to record and post!

Are you still using the comp switch on your Roland Rubix? I tried it a few times on mine then forgot it was there until a coupla days ago.

Thanks dude :hi5: As for chugs I don't think its necessarily better than the Suhr, they are close. I think load boxes and IRs will always be second to a real mic and cab setup.

As for the Rubix my main left output stopped working a few months ago. I was pissed and said fuck'em and moved on to a RME Babyface Pro for tracking guitars in the other rooms and a RME Fireface UCX for the bedroom for mixing n stuff. My gear is spread all over the apartment and still no dedicated space for recording so it is what it is... So far the RME has been good. Lowest latency ever, in Reaper the buffer is at 96 samples with 2.5/2.9 latency at 48kHz. Works good for playing my Roland kit to addictive drums. Back to your question though yeah I always used the comp switch, to me it made a difference.

Where have you been liking the reactive load settings? I feel like the “suggested” settings aren’t spot on. I tried some Mesa 4x12 IRs on the Lo-Lo setting and wasn’t crazy about it. I’ve been having the best luck between the l-mid and h-mid settings for both the presence and resonance. :idk:

Sounds very good, and the video had me rolling. I had no idea a camel could pick you up by it's teeth and throw you.

Sorry for the late reply. So far I've been using these three settings for recordings. Usually one for each track L/C/R. Do you know if there is a reference chart for which setting for particular speakers?

That's my favorite part! It looks like that camel could have bitten his head off if he felt like it.
