These VSP's are kickass tube rack preamps. I'm having a blast with mine. I slapped a new clip up today too in my NRPD announcement post.

I heard your clip, sounds killer.
Is that a Strat your playing?

No, I sold that a while ago. It's my MIM Tele which has a Kent Armstron blade type humbucker in the bridge position. It rocks pretty damn good with that humbucker but the middle position is :freak: .

You won't be disappointed, I really like my Plexi a lot. I'm working from home tomorrow so I might do a little tube rolling experiment. I want to experiment with V4 to see how tube changes impact the afterburner feature.

Thank you!!
Just called - Elizabeth had to 'check in the back' as her system showed they were out of stock.
Called me back and they 'found one' - so a plexi version is on it's way to me!!

My buddy Joel is coming to look at this topic. He’s probably a buttplug guy. So he’ll be right at home here.

First thoughts on the Blackface.
Only briefly got to play at volume.
Not quite enough gain for my tastes.
Very round sounding. I'm going to try some EQ and try hitting it with a Rat in my MS-3 and see how it does. Will report back.

I’ll give you $250 for it.

Noooo. First time I played the Plexi I was similarly unimpressed. I just need some time with it.

Luster is nice, but the gauge is what is important.

I broke out the tube caddy today and threw a few vintage tubes in the Rocktron Plexi and made a video of the event. The first clip is the stock tubes and you will be notified when there are tube changes.

I have an ancient copy of windows movie maker in an equally old P.O.S. XP powered Dell Inspiron laptop. A shit ton of keys don't work, the battery is stone dead and it's locks up constantly. I think it was porned to death. The whole process was a real pain in the ass! I recorded a number of different afterburner settings while I had a Sylvania long plate in V4 and intended to scroll settings across the screen when I was doing it but the fk'n keyboard has so many dead keys it would have been complete giberish so I blew the scrolling notifications off. I had all toggles in the up position but started each clip with the boost off for a cleanish tone then flipped it up for a higher gain tone. The gain control was at 3 the whole time, I never touched it. It's a little monotonous and repetitive because I didn't try to play anything more than the same pattern after every change to see if we could hear a difference.

What say you?

SPOILER ALERT!

Nah, you decide for yourselves if they make a difference or not.
