my buddy had one back in the day ... this looks like the opposite of that - the original had a million knobs (many were push-pull), but the sound didn't really change much no matter how many adjustments you made.

the sound it did have was really good, though.

I'm a huge fan of Lee Jackson's amps and mods. He's probably my favorite amp modder. This price is insane though.

Here's my old one.

I also have 3 vids on my youtube channel using that amp, but they were recorded decades ago on a VHS recorder and don't do the amp justice. I didn't know how to dial it in anyway.

:)

I also had an M-1000, and thought it was pretty sweet, besides the INSANE volume haha.

I really like that it retained most of the “Marshall” character, where something like a Splawn or a Friedman really isn’t that close in truth to an 800.

I dunno, man... the distortion sounds really bright, brittle and grainy to me. :idk:

Also, in the future, less talking and more playing, Lee. :)

+1

I’d rather get myself a Bottle Rocket for half, a couple nice 212 cabs, and still walk away with some significant coin.

those things were piled up in Freedom guitar and the other "junk" stores in Hollywood back in the day . Couldn't give'em away

Freedom Guitar was a treasure trove of gear! Black Market Music too. The sweet days of $500 JCM800s.

This is true, they were crazy loud. My local music store had one back in the day and the owner let me take it home to test out since it was too loud to play in the store. One of the loudest amps I have ever played, without a doubt.

I think it sounds good but not at that $ tag

The other issue is it reminds me a bit 2 much of the 80s - and I REALLY LIKE 80s rock/music and tones, but they just should update the "look and name" imo

:idk:

Maybe, maybe the price is like some of the black friday deals where they jacked up the price so the new % off was impressive.
