Good.

Cluster fig smells like hairspray. Gross. So glad I only got samples.

Lyssa smells like a rosy library. Gorgeous.

Dug this. Excelsior never fails me.....but I'll say this. Face feel afterwards? No contest to DG's Milksteak.

This smells wonderful though...like dead flowers. Not overbearing, just enough.

Yeah, I'm really into the Lyssa scent. FWIW, I'm not crazy about excelsior. I feel like the lather production "tops out" at just enough. Maybe my water doesn't love it. I still think Reserve is better. Glissant is BEST.

I might get the Lyssa EDT.

Agreed on Glissant.

Didn’t know he was doing the EdT.

She grabbed it for me and I asked her if she liked the splash; she said no so I didn’t bother lol

I might try bowl lathering Excelsior next time, just to see.

Hmm, so this blue Israel Personna is pretty decent. Smooth, but mild. I haven't actually used the term mild for a blade in a while. mild blade usually means "rough". This one feels safe, it just doesn't laser everything off instantly like a Gillette Platinum.

Great razor. Great soap. Great aftershave.

9/10 because of the blade. And, I could see myself getting tired of this soap scent.

I need to try some SV, heard great things lately, from both you and others.

Maybe after Xmas.

Shoot. I ought to just send my least favorite scent for you to try. You could send it back when you have your mind made up on its performance. Samples are not a good representation of how these perform.

Stein, give me an hour and I will type out my impressions of nearly every scent they make. I’ll do rankings/groupings.

Preface: don’t pay attention to beta 4.0/4.1/4.2/4.3. It doesn’t mean shit.

I disagree with most people on scent stuff, but here goes:

70th anniversary- best of the best. Takes me on a magical time machine joyride to a girl I knew in college. Gorgeous, perfumey scent. Exquisite.

Tundra artica - one of my favorites. Thick rose scent. Formidable. Deadly. Great shaves.

Stella alpina - very good. smells like new house after it’s built. I like this a lot.

Felce aromatica- most people rank this #1. I like it a lot. Intriguing. Bright. Slightly floral. Definitely top tier.

Asylum colonia - made for asylum shave co. Direct clone of acqua di Parma. Wonderful. Identical to fine Italian citrus and Razorock xxx.

Mirto di sardegna - mine is kind of weak. Smells kind of like soap and new construction very similar to Stella alpina, but not as good.

Manna di Sicilia- smells like Uber expensive soap at an old lady’s mansion. I’m kind of wondering if I could like it long term.

Opuntia- smells like aventus

Cosmo - smells like generic cologne.

Cubebe - smells like generic cologne.

Dolomiti- everyone else’s favorite. Smells like a locker room cheap soap. I don’t understand the hype at all.

Nice, thanks for the impressions.

Based on those I’ll put 70th, Alpina and Aromatica on my list for after Xmas.

Thanks Geno.

Now that I'm looking at that lather, it looks foamy. It still would have shaved really well, but I was working against a clock, and I still don't like using lather bowls for shit.

hmmmmmmmm, this wsp burns me. Not in a major allergic way, but in an inconvenient, uncomfortable warming way. It sucks. It shaved fine. It lathered GREAT. it smells good. Probably won't use again.

Blackbird, Gillette BP, Chatty Lux, Grizz Bay. All kicked ass.

8/10 because of this sad soap. Glad I didn't buy both formulas.

I'll give them a call to see if I can add on some AS.

They probably won't open until after noon or so since they are on the west coast. Email might be easier.

You might just need to have them cancel the order so you can resubmit. If you need a cheap aftershave that works every time, 60% of the time get the Oleo New City. I think it's on sale for like $7.

I think I'm going to try some more Catie's Bubbles. Their Midnight Dreary AS is fantastic.

Lame on the WSP Gene...know you were looking forward to it.

Ajax, lemme know what you think of the SV, still gathering reviews lol

The more I use this DG base the more impressed I am. This is great stuff, no fanboy.

Geno, if you haven't tried Diptyque you should grab a sample....the Rose is fuckin beautiful. P wears it mixed with other things and smells exquisitely feminine, and then I put it on and it goes about as masculine as a rose cologne could be. This goes great with anything light and works perfectly with MdC Rose...gonna have to grab a couple more, their line has always impressed me.

Awesome one today. The Stella Alpina has found it's final spot in the alder bowl. It earned it over the Mirto Di Sardegna. Just over the top lather and performance. I feel invincible shaving with SV. This smells a tad more cologny than I remember, but in a good way.

I FINALLY got my hands on some more laser etched updated PPI blades. I've always been a 7OC yellow fan. These are no exception. Awesome. The Wunderbar was a good match for it.

This brush is a big, burlie, softy. I love it.

This Aftershave, (SV Tundra Artica). WOW. It smells like DARK Rose and Cedar. Like a tall, dark haired slut in a red dress. I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE it. I was afraid these would be balmy, but they're not at all. It's just an opaque liquid. Felt like an alcohol base. Didn't leave my face greasy at all. Perfect. I need more SV AS.

10/10
