Okhaloma was so cold, my transmission actually froze overnight. I had to warm up the engine for a good 1/2 hour before I could put it in first gear. I think I need to swap the transmission fluid for a more winter friendly type.

holy crap - how cold was that??
Cars only have (1) transmission fluid spec - there really aren't any 'winter' or 'summer' fluids available like there are for oil.

Sounds like there may be some water in the transmission?

Possible, but it could just be the cold uncovering an existing issue that wasn't a problem in warmer temperatures.

Hopefully the tranny is just low on fluid. Changing over to synthetic fluid might help a bit, as it performs more consistently in cold temperatures.

True that... if the tranny is low, even by a cup or two, it will noticeably affect performance.

I hope not because I had it rebuilt right before the trip.

It may be low on fluid or need synthetic... I'll check it out when I get to PA.

I'm in Troy, IL right now. Getting close...

In Greenfield, IN tonight.

Going to Columbus, OH tomorrow then straight to PA.

Cleveland won't be one of our stops this time but we are definitely going to Cleveland next year. :)

Is this the first time that anyone put a smile at the end of this sentence? I guess it's better than Detroit.

Columbus OH tonight.
Finally traveling to PA tomorrow :)

BUT: when working on the basement, the contractor doing the remodel in our home found a few foundation issues that need to be addressed. So we won't be able to move in for another 10-15 days.
Looks like we will be going to MD to stay at Kimmis mom's until then. Fun.

Hope all works out for you, and it doesn't wind up killing your budget.

8' deep. We're building a nice recording studio there :)

I've always wanted a basement studio and now it's finally happening.

It's not entirely underground though. The house is built on a sloped lot so one side of the basement is above ground. It will be epic regardless

We just settled into the hotel in PA. We will relax for the night and go check on the house progress in the morning.

God damn that was an adventure
